Our Process
At Cryptic Design, we are resolute in our pursuit of continuous growth and improvement. Our time allocation is carefully balanced: 80% of our efforts are devoted to product design, while the remaining 20% is dedicated to essential work within the Design Library System (DLS). This equilibrium empowers us to drive innovation while nurturing the foundational elements that uphold our design process.
Our commitment to excellence spans various phases of user experience design. From the initial Discovery phase—where we illuminate key insights and pinpoint problem areas—to the Define phase, where goals and strategies take shape, our approach is anchored in meticulous research and strategic planning. As we traverse the Design Ideation and Build phases, we seamlessly bring concepts to life, harnessing state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies.
Our Toolkit
Our toolkit comprises a comprehensive array of software and platforms, including Microsoft One Drive, Jira & Confluence, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Unreal Engine 5.0, and more. With these tools at our disposal, we create engaging and impactful user experiences spanning diverse platforms, from mobile to virtual reality.
Our future
Envisioning the future, Cryptic Design aspires to extend its impact across scientific, academic, and professional domains. Our focus on Metaphysics—delving into fundamental questions about existence—fuels our determination to unravel the universe's mysteries. A pinnacle project, Lifa, aims to provide users with an interactive universe simulator that adheres to scientific accuracy, enabling exploration and creation within this dynamic realm.

Robert Croft
Founder/Owner/Principal member of Cryptic Design
Robert Croft is a former Senior UX Designer at EA Games, Art Director at Kabam, and UI Art Director at Ubisoft on Ghost Recon Future Soldier for Xbox360 & PS3. With over 20 years professional experience, he has worked across a diverse set of disciplines from Graphic Design, User Interface, User Experience, and Art Direction just to name a few. With specialties in Information Architecture, User Experience Design, and Graphic Design, he is working to push the creative and technological boundaries for art, user interface, and experience design within games, mobile, and web.
